My name is Alan Pater, founder of righteous restaurateurs.
Back in 2015 I got this crazy idea of opening a vegan sushi bar. I was living in Arequipa Peru at the time and discovered that Jim Echevarria (Master Chef Peru) was teaching at a local cooking school. So I contracted him to help me develop the menu and in December of that year, el buda profano launched.
The restaurant had a succesful run of 7 years, receiving rave reviews from the public, but in the end the pandemic and the 2022 coup in Peru took their toil and the restaurant was closed.
It will be reborn however! We are in the process of putting the pieces together to reopen as the profane buddha here in Canada. Stay tuned, or get in touch if you would be interested in playing a part in the resurection.
